Owner Driver Jobs

Find work for drivers with their own van and compare rates against the real cost of operating your vehicle.

Work out your operating costs

Using your own van means comparing an offer against the cost of keeping that vehicle available. Consider fuel, servicing, tyres, finance or rental commitments and time travelling to collections. Include loading, waiting and returning undelivered goods when estimating a working day.

Match the van to the work

Ask about the typical goods, required vehicle size and any equipment needed for loading or securing items. Confirm the collection area, route distances and access requirements. Check the advertiser’s vehicle, documentation and cover requirements before agreeing to start.

Review the offer

Clarify whether payment is per route, stop, mile or job, and whether waiting or additional collections are paid. Ask about payment dates, deductions and arrangements if your van is unavailable. Compare written offers using the same assumptions about mileage and hours rather than the headline rate alone.
