What multi-drop work involves
Multi-drop delivery combines several stops on one route. The job can include checking and loading goods, following delivery instructions, recording completion and bringing undelivered items back. Stop count alone does not describe the workload: distance, parking, access and item size also matter.
Ask about the whole route
Find out when loading begins, how routes are assigned and whether collection stops are included. Ask how delivery windows are set, how breaks fit into the day and who supports you when an address is difficult to find or a customer is unavailable.
Prepare for the working day
Check the process for damaged goods, failed deliveries and returns. Ask what navigation and proof-of-delivery tools are supplied and whether training is included. Compare the expected hours with the pay arrangement, including time at the depot before and after the route.
